Act in memory of the libertarian maquis in Catalonia (1939 - 1963)

It is a commemorative event to pay tribute to all libertarian guerrillas who, since 1939, when Catalonia was occupied by Franco's troops, began a long and fierce struggle against the dictatorship, until 1963 in what was killed in combat the last maqui, Ramon Vila Capdevila.

It was an unequal struggle in which hundreds of men and women lost their lives who did not accept the total denial of freedoms of the dictatorship and continued to fight to the end for freedom.

The event will include the following activities:

-Presentation: Ricard de Vargas-Golarons

-Declaration of the March of the Maquis

-Audiovisual exhibition: 24 years of libertarian guerrilla warfare in Catalonia (1939-63)

-Reading the letters of the ex-guerrillas living in France, Joan Busquets 'El Senzill' and Àngel Fernández

-Poetic and musical recital by Vicente (Vixca) Palao.
