76th anniversry of the Retirada COMMEMORATIVE WALK

9h30 THE CAMP OF BARCARÈS. Placing of a commemorative plaque at the old train station of Barcarès, today communal school Jean Moulin, and placing of a wreath. .

10h Beginning of the walk (1h, 3 km to the Mémorial des 3 colonnes) to the concentration camp of Barcarès.

12h Departure to the Espace Jean Carrère at Argelès-sur-Mer. Picnic lunch, sandwiches and drinks available. The Walk will be filmed by the video artist Anne-Laure Boyer to be shown on occassion of the opening of the Mémorial du Camp de Rivesaltes.

14h Lydie Salvayre, PRIX CONCOURT 2014, will honor us with her presence at this commemorative event and at the Salon du Livre.

15h30 TESTIMONIES OF THE EXILE by Marguerite Banqué Doz Bremer de Berlin, Manuel Moreno (UK) et Sonia Subirats (Mexique).

17h LECTURE by Jordi Gaitx, University of Girona, « The Republican diaspora», the 1939 exile beyond France; debate. 

19h30 SNACK gathering - Paëlla.
