CONTES INFANTILS DE LA GUERRA ens explica la producció editorial infantil duta a terme durant la Guerra Civil Espanyola, posant l'accent en el bàndol republicà. Partint de la col·lecció privada de Freixes-Garriga, l'exposició ens mostra com els contes infantils van passar a formar part de l'engranatge propagandístic del moment. Del Comissariat

de Propaganda a l'Editorial Estrella, d'El més petit de tots, a les adaptacions de contes clàssics com El gato con botas, els contes infantils es van convertir en una arma singular per ensenyar als més petits el món dual de bons i dolents que, en certa manera, s'estava enfrontant de forma fratricida al camp de batalla.

Comissariada per Sergi Freixes i Jordi Garriga, l'exposició és un viatge que s'atura per mostrar-nos amb detall diferents episodis, i s'estructura en els àmbits següents: Context històric, Finalitat ideològica i propagandística, Exemples de contes

clàssics adaptats, El Ministerio de Instrucción Pública, El Comissariat de Propaganda de la Generalitat de Catalunya i la Biblioteca Infantívola, Autors destacats i Il·lustradors destacats i, finalment, Literatura infantil del bàndol franquista de la guerra i la posguerra.

CHILDREN'S TALES OF THE WAR tells us about the children's editorial production carried out during the Spanish Civil War, with an emphasis on the Republican side. Starting from Freixes-Garriga's private collection, the exhibition shows us how children's tales became part of the propaganda machinery of the moment. From the Propaganda Commissariat to Editorial Estrella,from "The youngest of all", to the adaptations of classic tales such as El gato con botas, children's tales became a unique weapon in teaching the little ones the dual world of bonds and mourners who, in a way, were fratrically facing the battlefield.

Curated by Sergi Freixes and Jordi Garriga, the exhibition is a journey that stops at showing us different episodes in detail, and is structured in the following areas: Historical context, Ideological and propagandistic purpose, Examples of adapted classic tales, The Ministry of Public Instruction, the Commissariat of Propaganda of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Infantívola Library, Outstanding authors and illustrators, and finally, Children's literature on the Francoist side of the war and the postwar period.
