“La maleta de l’Agustí”

A production by Farrers brothers i Cia with the Teatre de l’Aurora in Igualada.

A production inspired by a small fragment of the life of the Catalan photographer Agustí Centelles (1909-1985). During his exile in France, Agustí Centelles carried away a suitcase with 4,000 negatives of photographs he had taken during the Civil War. This essential testimony could be saved because Centelles hid the suitcase in the attic of some friends’ house in Carcassone. It was not until 1976, after the death of Franco, when the photographer recovered the suitcase. The production goes beyond the individual story of Centelles and becomes a general reflection on attitudes to situations dominated by conflict and dense with difficulties.
