Cycle of outings: The ways of exile, edition 2019. 80 anniversary of the end of the Civil War and the republican exile (2)

Cycle of three cultural and commemorative outings, organized by the Museum of History of Girona and the MUME, with routes that emulate those that thousands of people undertook forced at the beginning of 1939 that will take place between February and April of 2019.

Saturday, March 2, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

GIRONA- LA JONQUERA- ARGELERS- ELNA

Beyond the border: between the concentration camp weather and humanitarian aid

The visit begins at the Exile Memorial Museum, in La Jonquera, and we will follow the route going to various areas of Algiers, such as the beach, the Spanish cemetery and the Algiers Concentration Camp Memorial. After lunch, in this same town, we will end the trip with a visit to the Elna Maternity Hospital.

The end of the Civil War in Catalonia: the salvation of heritage and the survival of republican institutions in exile

A tour of places related to the last days of Republican Catalonia and the evacuation of the cultural heritage and funds of the Bank of Spain

We will visit the Mas de Can Descalç, in Darnius, and we will continue the route to La Vajol, where we will move to the Mina canta. At the end, we will have lunch in the same town and end with a walking route to the border crossing of Coll de Lli.
