On Sunday 5 February 2017, the commemoration of the National Day of Exile and Deportation will take place, with the visit of different memory spaces in La Jonquera, Agullana, La Vajol and Algiers and the inauguration of a commemorative plaque in the Algiers beach. A day trip to discover the most emblematic places on both sides of the border

The General Directorate of Institutional Relations and with the Parliament, together with the Democratic Memorial, the Exile Memorial Museum and the Memorial Consortium of the Battle of the Ebro Spaces, is preparing a commemorative day during which some emblematic places will be visited. of exile on both sides of the border line with northern Catalonia.

The day will take place on February 5 in memory of the day when the institutions and much of society - the most committed to republican ideas and Catalan institutions - had to seek refuge outside our borders. A moment that marked a before and an after in the history of Catalonia.

The places to visit will be La Jonquera, with the possibility of seeing the MUME, the Coll de Manrella (one of the border crossings perhaps less known), where you will have lunch, and the beach of Argelers de la Marenda, where a commemorative plaque.

The trip will be made by bus (free) that will leave from Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Girona, Lleida, Manresa and Terres de l'Ebre. Later we will provide detailed information about the program and departure and arrival times.
