On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Mauthausen Nazi concentration camp (Austria) at the MUME, we would like to show a portion of the documentary collection concerning exiled Republicans who were interned in these camps after continuing the fight against fascism in support of the Allies, either with the French Army itself or with the Résistance in France
Amongst the testimonies there are documents from Miquel Serra Grabulosa, from Roda de Ter, Joan Cabratosa Font, from Sant Ferriol, and the brothers Ramon i Àngel Artola Casals, from Sant Hilari Sacalm.
The show will also include the projection of three interviews of José Marfil Peralta (1921), Matías Arranz Aparicio (1914-2009) and Francisco Ortiz Torres (Santisteban del Puerto, Jaén, 1919- El Soler, Rosselló, 2013), three survivors of the Nazi camps, and tres supervivents dels camps nazis fetes des del MUME (2008) i amb l’audició del disc commemoratiu “Mauthausen” fet a París el 1967 pels exdeportats catalans Ricard Garriga Salvador i Joan Vilató Mellado.
La mostra estarà situada entre el hall del MUME i a la vitrina “Biografies d’exiliats” de la sala “Vivències de l’exili”, al 1r pis, de dedicada a la família Cabratosa Sender. També hi ha altres documents sobre testimonis de Mauthausen a la sala “La Diàspora”, al 1r pis, amb mostres documentals dels deportats Josep Riera Borrell, Luis Garcia Manzano i José Panes Gil fruit de la cessió de l’Associació El Triangle Blau de Figueres.
