Concert by the Quartet Drago "Music for Before and After a War"

The Quartet Drago was created with the objective of bringing together the musical experience of its members in the world of chamber music and to offer the general public original programmes. Its members have performed numerous concerts and recordings for radio and television in different countries in Europe, offering an in-depth interpretation of their musical journeys. The proposal presented was a route that outlined the most important periods in the history of 20th century music including the drama of a Quartet by Shostakovich in honour of Holocaust victims. The other piece performed was the Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber: a turbulent private music, timeless and eternal, without references to real life, music to listen to with your eyes closed, the calm before the storm. And finally, a representative piece from our country, written by one of the most universal Catalans, and defender of freedom and human rights: The Sardana for string quartet by Pau Casals. The audience was very enthusiastic about the quality of the music and the emotions expressed by the Quartet.
